- Background.Tuberculosis is a chronic infectious diseases caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis that requires long term therapy. Adherence to treatment is essential to cure this infection. Belief about medications is one of the factors affecting adherence. Objective.This study aimed to determine the relationship between belief about medications and medication adherence among tuberculosis patients in primary health care centers in Surabaya. Method.This research designed as a crosssectional study using accidental sampling. There were 83 patients participated in the study. Result.The results showed that there were correlations between Belief about Medication Questionare (BMQ) Specific Necessity (p=0,038; r=0,228) and Belief about Medication Questionare (BMQ) Specific Concern (p=0,021; r=0,252) with ARMS scores. Conclusion.There were weak correlations between belief about the necessity and concern in medications with adherence among tuberculosis patient at primary health care centers in Surabaya.
