- The youth identity construction sometimes leads to a vacillation about who they are or what they want to be. This become a debatable problem which remains the position of youth as the next generation in nowadays society for gaining the success life of the youth himself. This youth identity issue has been correlated with the building process of self-concept. The youth face several problems about identity and self-concept around the world especially the one who get high reputation in terms of social class and position. This study discusses about the identity and self-concept building toward youth in Mama music video (2017) that bring Jonas Blue featuring William Singe as the main character. Music video when related to the youth, has special relation about shared feelings and ideas through the making of visual imagery and lyrical interpretation. This music video talks about the identity construction build by Blue and Singe accompanied by two female models. This study aims to analyze the construction of identity and selfconcept among youth that occurs in Mama (2017) music video. Theory used in this study is Falk and Falk identity and self-concept among adolescent combines with the other youth culture theory which talk about youth, style and resistance, private space and also music and youth culture as the practice of hedonism to reveal the representation of youth in finding pleasure and prestigious goods and clothes usage as the material symbol of class. This study uses qualitative approach by the help of three levels of television codes by John Fiske in finding the reality, representation and ideology for identifying the issue to get the interpretation meaning of the analysis.
