- Stereotype is a form of difference treatment to person or group of people. Stereotype itself is done because of the fundamental differences or different backgrounds that make or have different point of views. People who get different treatment will be more alienated from other communities. In the film Café Society told about Jewish community who imigrated and lived in America. The Jewish immigrants was treated differently by the American society. Thus, the Jewish immigrants who received different treatment is based on the backgrounds of the Jewish past which is considered bad attitude and give impact to the other. Furthermore given the stereotypes happening to Jewish immigrants in America they seek to gain social equality in public social. This research is done by using the theory from Stuart Hall which is explainabout stereotypes. In reversing the stereotypes Bobby Dorfman is presented as a good people. As the result, the writer discover the stereotype of Jewish immigrant have bad influence but Bobby against that stereotyped. The images show that Jewish immigrants also have positive quality as Jewish. The purpose of this research is to find out how the Jews as immigrants can equalize and considered equal by the people in America
