- Women linguistic features has always been one of the most interesting topic to talk about in linguistic area. Women have been viewed as different and unique sets of people and it can be seen through their language features. This study aims to identify women’s linguistic features used by two lead female characters based on Lakoff’s theory. This study applied descriptive qualitative approach. The object of the study was the utterances spoken by two lead female characters in the movie Clouds of Sils Maria; Maria Enders and Valentine. From the data found that there are 58 utterances of women’s linguistic features produced by Maria and there are 72 utterances of women’s linguistic features produced by Valentine. This study found eight women’s linguistic features used by both characters in their utterances; lexical hedges or fillers, tag questions, intensifiers, hypercorrect grammar, superpolite forms, avoidance of swear words, emphatic stress. Intensifiers features was the most frequently used feature, occured 49 times from the total of both characters, meanwhile superpolite form was the least used feature, occured 2 times.
