- Slips of the ear refers to the inability of a listener in perceiving the message correctly from a speaker. Noisy situation can be a factor of causing slips of the ear. The writer aim is to find out the types of slips of the ear and the most type experienced by students in perceiving Indonesia language as their first language within noisy situation. This study examined slips of the ear in noisy situation experienced by 30 students of SDN Karang Pilang 1 Surabaya. The data of slips of the ear used in this study were obtained from the data collection of Syukri (2015-2017). There are 91 incorrect answers and 138 correct answers and there is 99,3% SOE that happened in noisy situation. The writer use Bond’s theory in (2005) as classification of slips of the ear, which consists of linguistic knowledge including 14 types, to analyze the data qualitatively. From the data collected, there were 91 slips of the ear found in noisy situation. The result show that there were 11 types of slips of the ear appeared in noisy situation they are vowel misperception, consonant misperception, segment order, phonological reduction, language varieties, non-word and word misperception, word-boundary misperception, content and function misperception, morphological misperception, well-formed and ill-formed, and semantic misperception. The most dominant type of slips of the ear belongs to consonant misperception with the percentage of 19,8%. It is shown that bilingualism might affect in noisy situation while perceiving speech
