  • Introduction: Caring behavior is one of the benchmarks of nursing quality service. However, when giving nursing care, not all students are able to do good performance. The result of research conducted by researchers using Caring Behavior Inventory (CBI) on the students of the Faculty of Nursing Airlangga University recorded only 23% of respondent with good caring behavior category. While, 54% in enough category and 23% in the less category. Methods: In this study, researchers used pre-experimental one group pre-post test design. Caring behavior as dependent variable and preceptorship learning as independent variable. All sample in this research is 13 respondents. The sampling technique used is non probability sampling technique. Data retrieval tool used is Caring Behavior Inventory (CBI). Result data from the research were analyzed using paired t-test with significance level 0,05. Results: The results of the study showed a significance value of 0.071. Value p> 0,05 shows no effect of preceptorship learning on caring behavior of students in ICU Room of Airlangga University Hospital. Discussions: This indicates need for further research on preceptorship learning program and its influence on caring behavior of nursing students.
