- Mata Najwa is one of talk shows that give a chance to many great guests to share and obtain information. The program is popular, and it was the number one program back in 2016. This study aims to investigate performative hyphothesis performed by Ahok and Najwa in Mata Najwa talk show epiode “Ahok Independen, Ahok Gubernur DKI, Ahok Gubernur 2017”. The purpose of this analysis is to discover what typical speech acts which were used by Najwa and Ahok and what were typical of the most frequent speech acts she used and he used in that show. Which result in illocutionary act using Performative Hyphothesis and Speech Acts Theory. The utterances taken from the show are analyzed to figure out explicit and implicit hyphothesis. Furthermore, the speech act theory is used to categorize illocutionary acts performed by both Ahok and Najwa. This qualitative approach is choosen as the data required to be qualified in descriptive analysis. Findings show based on structure and function in speech act, I found that explicit performative is more used by Najwa and Ahok in that show. For the speech act classification, representative and expressive are more used by Najwa and Ahok in that convertion in front of the audiences.
