  • Background. The role of A. actinomycetemcomitans in chronic periodontitis is not yet known for sure. One of the virulence factors A.actinomycetecomitans adhesin that was not been revealed, and until now unknown role of A.actinomycetecomitans adhesin than as attachment factors in patients with chronic periodontitis, therefore research needs to be done to unravel the role of adhesin. Purpose. Analyzing the increase in chronic inflammatory cells consisting of macrophages and plasma cells from the induction of protein adhesin A.actinomycetemcomitans. Method. This study using a model of periodontitis in the Wistar rat, conducted by the research phases as follows : Preparation of A.actinomycetemcomitans protein adhesin, preparation of rat, adhesin protein induction on Wistar rats, counting the number of chronic inflammatory cells with HE staining. Results. On the adhesin protein induction treatment, there is an increase of chronic inflammatory cells. Conclusion. There was a tendency an increasing number of chronic inflammatory cells, macrophages and plasma cells by induction of protein adhesin A. actinomycetemcomitans.
