  • The aim of the research was to know about the effect of Acalypha Indica Linn exctract toward the blood lipid and the liver histopathological of male rats induced by high fat diet. Twenty male white rats (Rattus Novergicus) in the age of 3 to 4 months with average weight of 200 grams werw randomly divided into five groups. K(-) as a control group was not induced with high fat diet. The other groups were induced orally with pork oil for 7 days. After that, K(-) and K(+) were treated with CMCNa (1ml/day), while P1, P2, and P3 were treated with Acalypha Indica Linn extract (200 mg/kg/day, 400 mg/kg/day, and 800 mg/kg/day) for 49 days. The total lipid examination was done by Phospho-Vanillin method. The data were analyzed using ANOVA continued with Duncan test. The histopathology changes of livers were analyzed using Kruskal Wallis test and continued with Mann-Whitney test. The result showed that both the total lipid and the histopathology changes had significance (P > 0,05). In conclusion, Acalypha Indica Linn with dose of 200 mg/kg/day, 400 mg/kg/day, and 800 mg/kg/day did not have effect toward the total lipid and the liver histopathology changes of male white rats induced by high fat diet.
