- Deep carious dentine if not treated immediately can defect the vitality of dental pulp due to continuous invasion by bacteria. Pulp capping as a treatment to maintenance of vital pulp. Cocoa pod husk is a major waste processing cocoa pods can be alternative material. Cocoa pod husk active compound likes saponin, alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin, dan terpenoid are potential antibacterial agent. Purpose: To know the antibacterial potency of cacao pod husk extract on mixed bacteria of deep carious dentine. Method: Cocoa pod husk was extracted by ethanol 70% on maceration technique and diluted into several concentrations. Direct contact method between various concentration and bacteria was used. Value of MIC (Minimum Inhibitory Concentration) and MBC (Minimum Bactericidal Concentration) were done by counting the bacteria colony in Mueller Hinton media. Growth of bacteria colonies is calculated manually in Colony Forming Unit (CFU). Result: MIC was at 6,25% concentration and MBC was at 12,5% concentration of cacao pod husk extract. Conclusion: Cocoa pod husk has antibacetial potency against mixed bacteria of deep carious dentine
