- The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between patient’s belief to drug therapy and adherence in hypertensive patient. Sample was hypertensive patients in Dr. Wahidin Sudiro Husodo General Hospital in Mojokerto who got antihypertensive drug in December 2015 which chosen by Systematic Random Sampling method. Eighty-five patients were chosen as the respondent. Validated questionnaire was used to acquired the data. Belief to drugs’ therapy measured from 4 aspects of Health Belief Model’s Theory. Adherence was measured by 8-item of Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS) conducted to respondents. The data was analyzed by Spearman’s correlation with SPSS 19. Spearman correlation showed significant relationship of adherence and perceived threat (sig=0,013), and perceived benefit (sig=0,000), and perceived barrier (sig=0,003), and perceived self efficacy (sig=0,002). To conclude, belief to drugs’s therapy have a significant correlation with patient adherence.
