- This descriptive research was conducted on September 21th until November 3th 2016. Sampling has taken from two ponds that location in Kecamatan Diwek, Kabupaten Jombang. The aims of this research are isolation and identification of Edwardsiella tarda bacterium on the sick Clarias gariepinus in Kecamatan Diwek, Kabupaten Jombang. A total 15 Clarias gariepinus were collected by purposif random sampling. Edwardsiella tarda was detected by swab the kidney, then streaked on Xylose Lysine Deoxycholate, then continued with Gram stain, Triple Sugar Iron Agar, Catalase test, Oxidase test, Simmon’s Citrate Agar and Motility Indole Ornithine. The collected data which presented in descriptive from were calculated the precentage of infected Clarias gariepinus by Edwardsiella tarda. The result of this research were obtained that 4 sample infected by Edwardsiella tarda from 15 samples and 26,6% positive percentage which is infected.
