- The aim of this research was to investigate the effect of gadung (Dioscorea hispida Dennst) tuber extract against Culex fatigans mosquito larvae mortality by in vitro observation. It used experimental 400 fourth instar larvae of Culex fatigans. They were divided into five groups which each of them were put into Aquades liquid as K(-), Temephos liquid 0,03 ppm as K(+), gadung tuber extract with concentration of 1% (P1), 5% (P2), and 10% (P3). The parameters measured by the number of larval mortality that was observed after 24 hours of treatment. The research method was completely randomized design and analyzed by Anova then continued with Duncan's multiple range test. The result show that K(-) was significant with P1, P2, and P3, but K(+) was not significant with P3 (P>0,05). According this research, the gadung tuber extract showed the best effect in a concentration of 10%.
