- Swear words are known as the bad words and have a negative meaning in society and not everyone can accept the swear words in a particular situation or context. But we also know that swear words does not always have a bad meaning for everyone or practically had become a habit in a society especially among the players online game point blank, a game which played by everyone without age limits and when playing this game the players often swear. When they uttered swear words we can see clearly that the swear words themselves. Using the qualitative approach which requires natural setting, the writer attempt to see when the players of point blank game online utter the swear words and what functions the swear words serve. The writer use the theory of swear words classifications by Jay Timothy and theory of the functions of swear words by Andersson and Trudgill. The result shows that out of ten types of swear words proposed by Jay Timothy, seven types occur. The swear words that occur when the players play are never related to religion. And the result also shows that the four functions of swear words proposed by Andersson and Trudgill are used by the players of point blank game online
