  • Phytoestrogens are benefits for osteoporosis prevention in menopause women because able to bind estrogen receptors (ER) to inducing receptor dimerization and subsequent binding to estogen response elements. There are ERa and ERp in bone. Marsilea crenata Presl (McP) or Green clover (Semanggi in Javanese), is a phytoestrogen, primarily found in Surabaya, east Java, Indonesia. By using radioimmunoassay (RIA) with estradiol Ab-coated tubes technique, the estradiol-like compound concenrrations is detected quite high enough. Phytochemical study reveals the major compounds of semanggi leaves 96% ethanol extract include saponin, terpenoid and poliphenolic. The recent study already proved that McP was bound ER alpha, osteoblast cell in menopause mice, and intervention combination McP extract administration and exercise increased expression of the ERa. Until now, no study about the expression ERp after this intervention. The objective of the study was to analysis the expression of ERB osteoblast cells in menopause mice through combination intervention physical exercise and McP leaves 96 % ethanol extract administration.
