  • Hypertension is the main causes of premature death worldwide. Therapy of hypertension are conducted by nonpharmacological therapy and pharmacological therapy. Compliance is very important for patient with hypertension to achieve a successful treatment. According to the theory of Lawrence Green, health behavior (in this study is called compliance) is influenced by predisposing factors, enabling factors, and reinforcing factors. The aims of this study was to determine the influence of predisposing factors include knowledge and attitude, enabling factor include health facilities, and reinforcing factors include behavioral pharmacy personnel towards compliance of patient with hypertension who taking antihypertensive drugs in Balongsari Community Health Centre Surabaya. The method of this study was analytical method with cross sectional approach. Data were collected from questionnaire and sampling was conducted by accidental sampling. Data obtained were evaluated using correlation analysis. The results showed that knowledge significantly influence the patient compliance (α<0,05) but attitude, health facilities and behavioral pharmacy personnel are not significantly influence the patient compliance (α>0,05). This study is revealed that knowledge of patient (r=0,302) is the strongest behavioral factor that influence compliance of patient with hypertension who taking antihypertensive drugs in Balongsari Community Health Centre Surabaya.
