  • This research was aimed to as find out the specific antigenic protein of worms F._gigantica and C. cotylophorum which is expected to be used as a basis for the development of serological diagnosis helmithiasis. The material in this research using F. gigantica and C. cotylophorum itself were obtained from making of homogenates whole worm extract (WWE). Whole worm extract protein obtained by sonication technique then this protein was analyzed using SDS-PAGE technique and continued with characterization of antigenic proteins by Western blot technique. Analysis results WWE protein F. gigantica with SDS-PAGE technique gained 11 protein bands with molecular weight of 66, 54, 47, 35, 33, 29, 27, 22, 18, 13, and 11 kDa. Analysis results WWE protein C. cotylophorum with SDS-PAGE technique gained 11 protein bands with molecular weight of 102, 89, 80, 57, 49, 40, 33, 28, 24, 17, and 13 kDa. The results of protein characterization of WWE F._gigantica by Western blot techniques acquired 6 antigenic protein bands with molecular weight of 157, 87, 66, 35, 27, and 11 kDa. Protein characterization of WWE C._cotylophorum using Western blot technique found out 8 antigenic protein bands with molecular weight of 157, 95, 80, 57, 40, 28, 24, and 13 kDa. The proteins has potential to be developed material diagnostic helmithiasis as a serologic.
