- The aim of this study is to determine the effect of jackfruit bark (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lmk.) extract on the lifespan of mice infected by Toxoplasma gondii. Twenty four of mice divided into six group and four replication of treatment, i. e. negative control (K-), administered with 0.5 % CMC Na, positive control (K+) with spiramycin 150 mg/kgBB, and P1, P2, P3, P4 with 25 mg/kgBB, 50 mg/kgBB, 100 mg/kgBB, 200 mg/kgBB respectively. The treatment performed on 10 consecutive days. Observations were made during the treatment period and recorded the time of death of mice to obtain mice’s live longer. Stastical analysis were performed using ANOVA test, followed Duncan test. Based on the results of the statistical analysis by ANOVA test showed that there were significantly different results in each treatment group (p <0.05). K(-) obtained Duncan test was significantly different from K(+) and P4. Then P4 with P3 were not significantly different (p> 0.05) but significantly with K(+), P1, P2, P3. In conclusion treatment of P3 and P4 showed the best results seen significantly to jackfruit bark extract. The result showed that jackfruit bark extract was successfully to improved the lifespan of mice.
