  • Background. To repair indirect composile by direct composite can cause growlh of bacterial colonization because of the difference roughness surface. Purpose. The aim of this study was to know the growth of Streptococcus mulans colony and the roughness surface of direct and indirect composite. Msterials and Method. The samples of 25mm length, 2mm width, and 2mm in lhickness both direct and indirecl composite were measured by surfuce roughness lesler. Samples immersed in saliva for one hour, then the samples were pul into Streptococcus mutans sttspension, incubatedfor 24 hours at 37'C, and then counled lke amount of Streptococcus mutans colony. Results. The data results were statis!ically,analyzed by using IndepenCent T-test and Pearson Correlation test, The resulls showed a significance difference of Streptococcus mu!ans colony and the roughness surface between direcl anci indirect composite. Conclusion. The growth of Streptococcus mulans colony and the roughness surface of direct composile is higher thqn indirect composite.
