- Children as the future generation susceptible to emotional and behavioral disorders. The disorder may affect the development, decrease their productivity and quality of lives. Parenting style has impact on formation of a child's behavior. The way parents in raising children is one factor occurs behavioral disorders in children. The study was aimed to determine the correlation between parenting style with emotional and behavioral disorders in school age children This research was used correlation design with cross sectional approach. The population was primary school children class 5 with their parents. Total sample was 100 respondents, taken by purposive sampling. The independent variable was parenting style and the dependent variable was emotional and behavioral disorders. Data were collected by using questionnaires. Analysis of data using Chi-square with significant level of p<0.05. Results showed that there was no relationship between parenting style with emotional and behavioral disorders in school-age children (p = 0.750). We found that type of parenting more on authoritative parenting style (54%) compared with the type of authoritarian parenting which is only 46%. While type of permissive parenting 0%. In conclusion, there is a no relationship between Results showed that there was no relationship between parenting style with emotional and behavioral disorders in school-age children. Future research are expected to be able to examine other factors that could affect the motivation and caring behavior in students.
