- Exclusive breastfeeding is administering only breast milk as the sole nutrition source for infants, without the addition of other liquids, such as formula milk, orange juice, honey, tea, water and without the addition of solid foods such as banana, papaya, milk porridge, biscuits, rice gruel and teams. Data of exclusive breastfeeding coverage in Kedundung Clinic are 12.5% in 2013, 37.3% in 2014, and 54.6% in 2015. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors influencing the success of exclusive breastfeeding post out of place of birth in Kedundung Health Center, Mojokerto. This is analytic operational research applying case control design with a sample of cases and controls by 70 mothers of infants. Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis with logistic regression. The results of this study shows that the job with working hours ≤ 8 hours is significant to the success of exclusive breastfeeding ( or = 4.374 ; 95 % ci : 1.409 to 13.576 ), income ≥ UMR ( or = 7.367 ; 95 % ci : 1.497 to 36.263 ), higher education ( or = 6.021 ; 95 % ci : 1.259 to 28.805 ), no health problems ( or = 7.222 ; 95 % ci : 2.515 to 20.736 ), the general condition of normal breast ( or = 12.667 ; 95 % ci : 3.259 to 49.229 ). Conclusion : the general condition of normal breast may affect exclusive breastfeeding success. Suggestions drawn based on the results of this research are health education should be given to working mothers about the importance of exclusive breastfeeding.
