Wound Pattern Profile In Deceased Victims Of Traffic Accidents In Raden Said Sukanto Bhayangkara Hospital Jakarta From January 2017 Until December 2018

- Background: Traffic accident is an event that occurs on the road, such as car crash or collision, which started on the road and involves death or injury of persons or damage surrounding the scene. Injuries due to traffic accident have a different pattern than injuries from any other events or violence, for example mechanical injury due to friction with asphalt. The common wounds found on the victims are abrasion, laceration, contusion, and wounds with fracture. Objective: To find out the wound pattern profile on the deceased victims of traffic accident recorded in the Forensic Department of Raden Said Sukanto Bhayangkara Hospital Jakarta from January 2017 until December 2018. Method: This study used secondary data by consecutive sampling using external examination. Result: Most of victims recorded are male (87,5%), age (26 – 45) years old (42,18%). The most common wounds were abrasion (44,92%), at head and neck region (44,09%). Conclusion: The deceased victims of traffic accidents were mostly; male, age (26 – 45), most common wounds are abrasion at head and neck region.
