- This research shows on how implementing cooperative, integrated, reading, and composition (CIRC) method in teaching descriptive text to improve students’ writing skills at SMP Pasundan 6 Bandung. Writing is not easy to do with using the variety of words, but writing need element that must be understood by students with the instruction from teacher. Learning writing using CIRC method involves discussion activities in the group to determine good ideas. The group consists of four until five students. Writing descriptive text becomes the learning for students’ seventh grade accordance with syllabus. Descriptive text describes the objects through identification and description. In learning descriptive, teacher can use object around environment for learning material and apply the teaching equipment as access in learning activities. Students’ writing skill is still neededthe improvement, because they often get the difficulties to write English. Therefore, researcher conducts this researchbyapplyingdescriptive qualitative analysisto see students’ skill in writing descriptive text. The research is conducted at SMP Pasundan 6 Bandung with 40 students in the classroom of 7D. Researcher obtains the data for this research through observation, test, and questionnaire techniques. This research is analyzed usingdescriptive qualitative method. After analyzing, the result of this research showsthat there is 12,63% improvement from student’ writing skill. Students’ responses of this research are also show good categorization.Key Words: CIRC Method, Students’ writing skill, Descriptive text
