The writer’s reason in choosing this title is to analyze how thematic city parks in Bandung as a recreational public facilities, is to find out solution of city park, the background of this study is one of the policies and programs of the Government of
Bandung to realize Bandung as a green city and convenient for the residents, empowering potential of tourism and culture is to revitalize the city park in Bandung and turn it into an attractive garden theme parks to visit. This study aims to describe how the Bandung city park can be an alternative recreation spot for residents in the city. Hope this study makes it easy for anyone who wants to know about the thematic city park as a recreational public facilities. where it will affect level visitors, and make travel destination for anyone who will visit Bandung city. The problem of this study how the city park can be used for recreation citizens an easy and affordable. The purpose of this study was to determine the satisfaction of visitors to the park include how visitors respond to the existing facilities. The focus of the problem in this study: 1) How to plan a city park in Bandung as an alternative recreation area for residents of the city? 2) How did the residents respond with this thematic parks in the city? 3) and what are the obstacle to maintenance and preservation of the park in the city. 
Research method used in this research is qualitative method. It is related to the general purpose of the study to define and describe the research. In this research design, the writer conducted the research through the descriptive research, where in descriptive research processing of data more describe in words or sentences. In other words, although there is the data which form in numerals it just take a conclusion from data numeral process that was found. The procedures of data collection that have been conducted in this observation are interview, and observation.
