- Problems faced by company today was the lack of raw material used on production. It happened because the forecasting method used by the company is still not right, the raw material planning needs covering reorder point and number, and safety stock wes still not precise so the production was delayed. The used method to solve the problem were forecasting method adjusted with the company selling historical data and later making raw material planning needs using continuous review system. The calculation showed that the suitable forecasting method was one parameter forecasting method from Brown and material planning strategy that suitable based on cost is Q method, except salt material using P system. Therefore, the company is suggested to make improvement by applying material inventory planning using suggested method. Masalah yang dihadapi perusahaan adalah sering terjadinya kekurangan bahan baku karena peramalan masih kurang tepat, perencanaan kebutuhan bahan baku yang meliputi titik pemesanan kembali, jumlah, dan tingkat safety stock masih belum tepat sehingga menyebabkan terhambatnya produksi. Metode yang digunakan untuk menyelesaikan masalah adalah metode peramalan yang disesuaikan dengan pola data historis penjualan perusahaan kemudian membuat perencanaan kebutuhan bahan baku dengan continuous review system. Dapat dilihat dari hasil perhitungan bahwa metode peramalan yang cocok untuk digunakan adalah metode peramalan satu parameter dari Brown dan strategi perencanaan bahan baku yang paling cocok berdasar biaya adalah metode Q, kecuali bahan baku garam yang menggunakan sistem P. Oleh karena itu, perusahaan dianjurkan untuk melakukan perbaikan dengan menerapkan perencanaan persediaan bahan baku dengan metode yang diusulkan.
