  • Pulmonary Tuberculosis (pulmonary TB) is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Based on basic medical research data (2013) the numberof pulmonary TB in Padang is constantly increasing. The high occurrence of pulmonary TB often happens because of low patients compliance in the treatment which was influenced by the knowledge and attitude.This study aimed to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitude of pulmonary TB patients withmedication adherence anti-tuberculosis drug in Padang. This study used cross sectional design with sample from 49 patients with pulmonary TB treatment atsevenhealth centres Padang. Data were collected through interviews with patients using questionnaire which is analyzed by chisquare test. Based on univariate analysis showed 77,6% of pulmonary TB patients have a good knowledge, 93,9% of patientshad a positive attitude towards medication adherence, and 44,9% have a high level of adherence to take the medication. The chi-square test results obtained there is an relationship between knowledge (p-value: 0,012) of pulmonary TB patients with medication adherence anti-tuberculosis drug in Padang and the attitude for this statistical test can not be done because there is zero cell. The conclusion is there is significant relationship between knowledge of pulmonary TB patients with medication adherence anti-tuberculosis drug in Padang and all patients with high level of adherencehave a positive attitude (47,8%).
