  • In this study, total phenolic content and antioxidant activity of methanol extract, hexane fraction, ethyl acetate fraction, butanol fraction and water fraction of matoa leaves (Pometia pinnata) have been studied. The extraction was done by maceration method using methanol. Then, fractionation was performed with separating funnel using hexane, ethyl acetate and butanol. The results of the phytochemical test show that the leaves of matoa contain secondary metabolite compounds such as flavonoids, phenolics, saponins and steroids. Determination of total phenolic content and antioxidant activity were performed on methanol extract, hexane fraction, ethyl acetate fraction, butanol fraction and water fraction. Determination of total phenolic content by the method of Folin-Ciocalteau and antioxidant activity by the method of DPPH. The total phenolic content for methanol extract is 0,0943 mg GAE/mg extract, fraction hexane, ethyl acetate fraction, butanol fraction and water fraction are 0,0868; 0,2151; 0,2428; 0,1469 mg GAE/mg fraction. The results of antioxidant activity showed very strong antioxidant activity with IC50 value was 40,87; 43,71; 15.55; 11.29; 24.35 mg / L. Keywords: Pometia pinnata, total phenolic content, antioxidant
