- This research investigated the infuence of locus of control on organizational commitment with islamic work ethic as an intervening variable with study of Bank Syariah Mandiri in Padang. The data obtained through questionnaire. The sample were drawn from 128 employees. The data analyzed by using SmartPLS 2.0. In this research there are 3 variables; those are independent variable which is locus of control, the dependent variable which is organizational commitment and the intervening variable refers to islamic work ethic. The findings indicated that locus of control has no significant and positive related to organizational commitment. But islamic work ethic has positively related to organizational commitment. Locus of control also has positively related to islamic work ethic especially internal locus of control. However, the influence of locus of control on organizational commitment will be high if there is intervening/mediating variable.
