- ABSTRACT This study aims to prove empirically the influence of institutional ownership and corporate risk on tax avoidance in various industry manufacturing company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the year of 2012-2016. Number of samples used were as many as 80 company_year are selected using purposive sampling techniques. Methods of statistical analysis used was multiple regression analysis. These result indicate that intitutional ownership has no significant effect to the tax avoidance, meanwhile corporate risk has significant and positive influence to the tax avoidance in various industry manufacturing company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the year of 2012-2016 Key words : Institutional ownership, Corporate Risk, Tax Avoidance ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan secara empiris pengaruh kepemilikan institusional dan corporate riskterhadap tax avoidance pada perusahaan sektor aneka industri yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia tahun 2012-2016. Jumlah sampel yang digunakan adalah sebanyak 80 perushaan_tahun yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposivesampling. Metode analisis statistik yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kepemilikan institusional tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap tax avoidance sedangkan corporate risk berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap tax avoidance pada perusahaan sektor aneka industri yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia tahun 2012-2016.
