  • Introduction: Hydrargyrum or mercury has toxic characteristic to human. There are many the use of mercury in daily life, increasing the risk of toxic to human. Vapor type exposure mainly happen in production of dental amalgam and in the gold mining. Minamata disease was occurred in Japan in 1953-1960 is the first toxic case of mercury that has been reported. Mercury toxic has been reported in Indonesia, in 2011 at Cisoka as the illegal gold mining (IGM) area. This experiment aims to determine the differences between macroscopic and microscopic kidney feature of mice Mus musculus which is not expose and expose by mercury vapor. Method: The design was posttest only control group. It was conducted for 4 weeks in animal house and Anatomic Pathology Laboratory Medical Faculty of Andalas University. The samples were divided into 2 groups, control group and treatment group by using 6 mice for each group. Next, data is processed and analysis using Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. Results : Based on Kolmogorov-Smirnov test found that p value is 0,031 (p<0.05) which is showed that there is a significant difference between two groups. Conclusion: There is a significant difference between the macroscopic and microscopic kidney feature of mice Mus musculus that have been exposed and not been exposed by mercury vapor.
