  • This study aims to determine the level of student learning difficulties in Biology at topic human excretory system topic regarding knowledge dimension (concept,fact, procedure), knowledge content and science process skill (observe, classify, conclusion). The research method used descriptive quantitative. The research population was all students of class XI IPA SMA GKPI Padang Bulan Medan. All students in population were used as sample (total sampling) as many as 60 students. The reserach instruments used multiple choice tests and questionnaires. Data were analyzed using percentage techniques. The research results showed that: (1) The student learning difficulty in the knowledge dimension which has the highest difficulty level was in the procedure category with a percentage of 60.37%; (2) The learning difficulty based on knowledge content that has the highest difficulty was the nephrone structure, human urine formation, structure and function of kidneys, lungs, liver and skin with percentage of 65%; (3) The student learning difficulty in science process skill that has the highest difficulty was classify with a percentage of 49.63%.
