The Implementation of Classroom Management applied by English Teachers at Grade Ten of Senior High School

- This research dealt with classroom management that implemented by English Teachers in Madrasah Aliyah Tahfidzil Qur’an Sumatera Utara. The aims of this study were: (1) to describe components of classroom management that applied by the English teachers in grade ten of senior high school and (2) to analyze the how the English teachers implement the components of classroom management in grade ten of senior high school. This study used descriptive qualitative design. The data were collected by following instruments: observing, interviewing, and documenting. The finding of this study revealed that: (1) all components of classroom management were applied by both English teachers. The components of classroom management namely physical design of classroom, rules and routine, relationship, motivation and giving instruction, and discipline. (2) The first components was physical design of classroom management. Teachers manage the seating arrangement depending on the material and number of students. The second was rules and routines. The rules were present the class on time, wear neat uniform, bring dictionary and wear mask. And the routines were praying before start the lesson, checking attendance list. The third was relationship. Teachers always provided a good environment and always make interaction to make good relationship between teachers – students’ relationship, and students – students. The fourth components was engaging and motivating instruction. Teachers always made preparation before starting the class and when give the instruction, the teachers always kept as simple as possible. The last was discipline. Teachers always came closer to the students who had some problem in teaching and learning process.
