  • Mental toughness is one of the most important factors that can influence an athlete's performance. It is a collection of characteristics, mentalities, behavior patterns, and emotional responses that enable athletes to survive and face any challenges, difficult circumstances, or tensions encountered, as well as maintain focus and concentration when things are going well, determination is required to achieve the expected goals on a consistent basis. This study aims to determine the profile of mental toughness in athletes with congenital and acquired disabilities at the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) North Sumatra. The research was conducted at the North Sumatra National Paralympic Committee. The case study qualitative method was used in this study. This case study attempts to reveal the subjects' entire biographies based on the stages and processes of their lives. Apart from the different processes and life experiences of each subject, the results revealed that the two subjects had a similar mental toughness profile. Nina demonstrated 17 mental toughness characteristics, while Sofyan demonstrated 15 mental toughness characteristics. There are several differences between the two subjects that only one possesses and the other does not.
