  • The purposes of conducting this research were to investigate out the dominant feature of four feature of instagram video post and to analyze the use of instagram video post in speaking skill. The data of the research were collected from eleventh grade students of SMAN 8 Medan at Science Class year 2020/2021. The subject of this research was 21 students. This research was conducted by descriptive qualitative method. In this case, the researcher collected the data from students’ posted video on instagram and from the given questionnaire to the students. The result showed that from four features of instagram video post, the regular timeline post is the most dominant feature with 63.64% students who had uploaded their videos on it, followed by IGTV as the second used feature. Also, it was proven that instagram video post is able to be the new media of learning the speaking skill in English.
