Developing Digital Scrapbook to Teach Writing Recount Text for the Tenth Grade Students at MAN 2 Deli Serdang

- The objective of this study was to develop a digital scrapbook by using canva as the media to teach writing recount text for the tenth grade students at MAN 2 Deli Serdang. This study was conducted by using Research and Development design through six stages; gathering data and information, need analysis, designing materials, validating, revising (final product). The subject of the study was grade tenth of MAN 2 Deli Serdang. The data were gathered by conducting interview to English teacher and distributting questionnaire to X MIA 3 consists of 27 students to get the students’ need. To collect the data of the research, conducting interview to English teacher and two types of questionnaires were used as the instruments. The first was the needs analysis questionnaire which was made to obtain the data about the students’ target needs and the second was the expert judgment questionnaire which was made to obtain the data about the appropriateness of the digital media developed. The developed digital media was validated by two experts which are the average scores by the lecturer is 87.2 and the teacher is 91.2, show that the digital scrapbook as a media is valid and suitable to use for the tenth grade students of MAN 2 Deli Serdang. Based on the results of the expert judgment, the developed digital media were considered appropriate, which was very good.
