A Critical Discourse Analysis on Humor Material Entitled Corona by Bintang Emon

- This study discussed the text elements contained in humor material entitled Corono by Bintang Emon. This study used a qualitative research design with a single case study to gain an understanding of this research. It was done descriptively. This study aims to (1) examine the types of text elements in the humorous material entitled Corona by Bintang Emon (2) to describe how text elements are embodied in the humorous material entitled Corona by Bintang Emon and (3) explain the reasons for the text elements in the humorous material entitled Corona by Bintang Emon embodied. The instruments used in this study were observation and humorous video material from the Instagram account. Observations are used to determine the phenomenon of the types of text elements in the humorous material entitled Corona by Bintang Emon to describe the process of text elements in the humorous material and to find out the reasons for the emergence of text elements appearing in humorous material entitled Corona by Bintang Emon. There are ten elements of text were analyzed, namely background, detail, purpose, sentence form, cohesion, coherence, lexicon, graphics, metaphors, and expression. Then, the process of materializing the text elements is described through a social cognitive approach seen from the background of the speaker. Finally, the reason for the text elements contained in a humorous material is described with a social context approach, namely the right time and phenomenon when the material is produced. The humorous material of Bintang Emon in the issued of 22 March 2020 "Corona" is practically used to build the image of the government so that it is more accepted in the socialization of the COVID 19 protocol in the community.
