- The developed textbook were a research-based textbook on sipahutar Pineapple (Ananas comosus L.) rooting in vitro. The aim of this textbook was to generate a textbook of plant tissue culture that will be used as one of the learning guide books for students of graduate program of biology ,education at Universitas negeri Medan. The development of this textbook applied a Thiagarajan Research And Development model. Comprises of four phases (4-D) namely : (1) define, (2) Design, (3) Develop and (4) disseminate. However, this study was conducted only until the phase of develop. This developmental model was a product – oriented learning design model. The data was obtained with the needs analysis, product design, product making, product validation and product trials. The instruments were to collect the data of research and development using a feasibility instrument and questionnaire on respondents. The data was subseguently analyzed descriptively. Based on the analysis results, it showed that the textbook that was made has fulfilled the feasibility requirement. The level of material feasibility was 92% in a valid category, the learning presentation feasibility was 90% in a valid category, the book design presentation feasibility was 97,4% in valid category, the result of lecturers response to wardt book was 93,5%, in a very interesting category, the result of individual trial was 82%, small group trial was 83,9% and limited group trial was 81,82% in a valid category and feasible to be used as well.
