  • Nepenthes is a tropical plant grouped in a type of carnivorous plant. There are 29 species of Nepenthes in Sumatra which make Sumatra the second richest as the place for Nepenthes distribution in Indonesia. This study aims to inventory and obtain data on species diversity (Nepenthes sp) found in Samosir Region, Onanrunggu Subdistrict. This research was conducted in May. The implementation of the study began with a purposive determination of location based on information about the presence of pitcher plants, then the specimen was identified using an identification key. Based on the research conducted, four types of Nepenthes were found at the study site. these are found in Pakpahan village, and Pardomuan village, that is Nepenthes reinwardtiana Miq, Nepenthes reinwardtiana X Nepenthes Spectabili, Nepenthes mirabilis (Lour) Druce, and Nepenthes tobaica Danser
