This research was conducted by using qualitative descriptive design. It took twenty headlines taken randomly from daily newspaper The Jakarta Post which were published in November until December 2014. The findings of data analysis showed that the total numbers of lexical metaphor in headlines of The Jakarta Post were: 15 (38.46%) noun-noun, 15 (38.46%) noun-verb, 8 (20.51%) noun-adjective, 1 (2.56%) comparing two social concepts, and no sound concept found. The most dominant are noun-noun and noun-verb with the same percentage (38.46%).
