- The main purpose of this study is toinvestigate the relationship between anxiety andscholastic achievement among students of Englishdepartment at the faculty of Arts and Humanities ofMeknes, Morocco. This study focuses on the level ofanxiety among English department students and howthey can reduce anxiety inside and outside the classroomin a foreign language speaking environment withoutinstructors‟ intervention. This quantitative research usedtwo instruments; Cattle‟s anxiety questionnaire to testthe level of anxiety and achievement test to measuretheir scholastic achievement. The results revealed thatgirls are more anxious than boys, boys achieve highermarks in scholastic achievement, and there is norelationship between anxiety and scholasticachievement.Key words: Anxiety, Foreign Language Anxiety,scholastic achievement, Foreign language classroomanxiety, cattle‟s anxiety questionnaire
