- The students were still confused to undertand grammar rules in simple present tense especially in using subject-verb agreement. The students were difficult to put a verb grammatically after the subject because the students did not understand whether the subject-verb were singular or plural. This study analyzed what types of subjectverb agreement errors are mostly made by the students and how do the errors occur. The aims of this study were to find out the types and the sources of subject-verb agreement errors which made by the students of the seventh year students of MTs Plus Darul „Ulum Jombang. In this study, the researcher applied descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study were 35 of seventh year students (7E) of MTs Plus Darul „Ulum Jombang. The data were 18 students who made errors, while 17 students did not make errors. This study used documents to collect the data. The documents of this study were students‟ descriptive writing. From the data analysis, the result of the study shows that there were four types of errors made by students. They were omission, misformation, addition and misordering. Omission is the type of error mostly made by the students in writing descriptive text. The errors related to omission were 20 errors. The errors related to misformation were 9 errors. The errors related to addition were 2 errors. While the error related to misordering was 1 error. Omission, misformation, addition and misordering errors occurred because the students were still influenced by Interlingua transfer and communication strategies.
