- This study was an attempt to identify the inter-lingual translation strategies in Indonesian to English movie subtitling and determine the frequency of each. Things that researcher has considered towards this study were (1) Subtitling strategy that used by subtitler on The Raid: Redemption movie. (2) What strategy mostly used by subtitler to transfer the language on The Raid: Redemption movie. This is a comparative study, the researcher compared both the subjects and identified strategy used in every line. This study mainly focused on subtitling strategy. The subjects of this study were original text of The Raid: Redemption movie and the English subtitle. Researcher used subtitling strategy by Gottlieb (1998), and came up with conclusion that Transfer strategy is used the most in subtitling the movie with the frequency of 371 out of 520.
