- Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian korelasional yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui signifikansi hubungan antara pola asuh otoriter orangtua dengan penyesuaian diri pada mahasiwa 2014 Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana yang berasal dari Ambon. Teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu teknik sampel jenuh dengan jumlah mahasiswa 112 orang dan yang dapat menjadi partisipan dalam penelitian ini yaitu 72 orang. Metode penelitian yang dipakai dalam pengumpulan data yaitu skala pola asuh otoriter yang dimodifikasi oleh penulis berdasarkan skala pola asuh otoriter yang dikemukakan oleh Robinson, et al., (1995) untuk mengukur pola asuh otoriter yang dirasakan oleh mahasiswa dan skala penyesuaian diri yang dibuat oleh Baker dan Siryk (dalam Splichal, 2009) yang juga telah dimodifikasi oleh penulis. Teknik analisa data yang dipakai adalah teknik korelasi product moment. Dari hasil analisa data diperoleh koefisien korelasi (r) 0,070 dengan sig. = 0,279 (p > 0.05) yang berarti tidak ada hubungan negative dan signifikan antara pola asuh otoriter dengan penyesuaian diri. Hal ini bermakna bahwa pola asuh otoriter tidak berkorelasi dengan penyesuaian diri pada mahasiswa UKSW 2014 asal Ambon.
- This is a research of correlation which has a purpose to find out the significance relationship between authoritarian parenting style and self – adjustment on the students of 2014 academic year in Satya Wacana Christian University who are from Ambon. The sampling technique used in this research is saturated sampling technique with the total students of 112 people. However, those who can be the participants are only 72 people. The research method employed in collecting the data is the scale of authoritarian parenting style which has been modified by the writer based on the scale of authoritarian parenting style suggested by Robinson, et al., (1995) to measure the authoritarian parenting style experienced by the students. In addition, the scale of self – adjustment which was proposed by Baker and Syrik (in Splichal 2009) has also been modified by the writer. The technique of data analysis applied in this research is the correlation technique of product moment. The result of the data analysis shows that there is a correlation coefficient (r) 0,070 with sig. = 0, 279 (p > 0.05) which means that there is no negative and significant relationship between the authoritarian parenting style and the self – adjustment. It means that the authoritarian parenting style does not correlate with the self – adjustment of the students of 2014 academic year in Satya Wacana Christian University who are from Ambon.
