  • The development of tropical wheat, takes a long time through a process of selection and adaptation until it’s characters is relatively stable. Some genotypes of wheat has been adapted in tropical highlands of West Sumatra, Cipanas and in tropical lowland of Central Java province in the district of Semarang and Demak. The purpose of this study was to determine the differ performance of several wheat genotypes which adapted in highland and lowland tropics. The method used in this study is review of the research about adaptation several wheat genotype which planted in high land that had been published by other researcher as secondary data and review of the primary data from the research of wheat genotype which planted in tropical low land. The conclusion from this study is there is a different performance of growth and yield between wheat genotype that have been planted in tropical high land with the genotype that have been planted in tropical low land. The plant height, number of tiller, seed number/panicle and yield per hectare of wheat genotype which planted in tropical high land higher than planted in low land.
