- Youth Ministry is an important thing that must be observed by the Church. Coaching of young people is the duty and responsibility of the Church. Because the youth is the managing agent duties and Church services, as well as the next generation of the Church in the future. This paper reveals a critical review of the curriculum design of youth ministry in the Gereja Batak Karo Protestan (GBKP). Youth in GBKP known as PERMATA that stands for "Persadaan Man Anak Gerejanta" which means unity of our Church's children. The process of curriculum design are still many of lack. Curriculum designers did not have a balanced attention to the principles of the curriculum, the approaches used are also not vary, and curriculum design process also has not been effective. The curriculum designers forget to evaluate the curriculum design every year. The author think that is a severe fault. This is caused by a variety of factors, namely the causes of differences in the context of youth, education, employment, and community development. Therefore, the author tried to criticize the process of curriculum design of PERMATA, based on the theory of curriculum development, with the goal to become the input for the development of coaching for GBKP’s youth in the future.
