- The objectives of this study are: Firstly, to determine the effectiveness absorption of Pb, Cd, Zn, dan Fe from laboratory waste water by various duckweed (L perpusilla) population densities. Secondly, to determine the optimum of duckweed population densities in the absorption of Pb, Cd, Zn, dan Fe from laboratory waste water. The study was carried out in 6 days and the observation had been carried out in every 2 days to determine the depletion of heavy metals content. Data were analyzed by analysis of covariance and it was laid out with Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD), 6 treatments and 4 replications. As the treatments are various duckweed population densities which are: 0%, 12,5%, 25%, 37,5%, 50%, and 62,5%, respectively, while as the blocks are the analysis time. To test the differences between the treatment means, the Honestly Significant of Differences (HSD) were used at 5% level of significant. The results of this study show that the effectiveness absorption of duckweed (L perpusilla) on heavy metal content (Pb, Cd, Zn, and Fe) from laboratory waste water in the period of 6 days are as follows: 62,11% Pb, 56,04% Cd, 36,84% Zn, and 33,60% Fe, respectively. The optimum of duckweed population densities in the absorption of Pb and Fe were 62,5%, while for Cd and Zn were 50%
