- The encouraging factors to implement product development is advance of science and technology, change of consumer's demands due to change taste, competition and a requirement to improve profit. The research is intended to figure out and anylyze the tools applied in the PT MSA's product development and its alternatives. Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is used to find product attributes for consumer's demand, company's performance, level of interest, technical paramaters, an requirement of process and quality procedures to improve products. Design study is a quantitative research method with two kinds of validity, namely external and internal validity. QFD application in PT. MSA resulted 15 product attributes demanded by consumers and those are interpreted in 9 technical parameters in House of Quality (HOQ) for fresh milk in package, while for yoghurt, it has 15 product attributes interpreted in 8 parameters in House of Quality (HOQ). PT. MSA will conduct their business decision for the product development based on the step of priority for yoghurt product because it can increase total sales, overcoming the weakness of marketing comparison with fresh milk in package.
