  • Most of competition in the banking sector encourages any businessman to survive in the middle of the competition, considering that each costumer has his own absolute right to a decision making to be a customer of a bank . Based on that reason, on of the effords to a attract customers is by sales promotion. Through the sales promotion, a company can attact new customers, and retain existing customers. One form of sales promotion often done by financial institutions is raffle prizes bank saving. Sales promotion is also done by Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, with the lottery savings Simpedes being held two times a year. Under these conditions, the purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the lottery on purchasing decisions and increasing the amount of savings. From the results obtained using simple linear, regression the lottery has a positive influence on the purchase decisions. Moreover lottery encourages customers to increase their savings.
