- The research purposes are to determine the effect of hydration on physicaland physiological seeds quality for black soybean which are Detam 1 and Detam 4 Prida varieties; determine hydration treatment to produce the best physical and physiological seeds quality for each variety; and determine the effect of each variety for hydration levels,physical, and physiological seeds quality. This research was held on January until February, 2019, at Seed Technology Laboratory, Agriculture and Business Faculty of SWCU. The method of this research was used Split Plot Design with three times repetition. The main plot is the black soybean varieties. The sub plot is a period of soaking which consists of 7 levels hydrations and every level was incubated until 18 hours. PEG-6000 20% (b/v) is used as a solute during hydration. The result showed the longer time of soaking (priming) will increase the hydration level and improve physiological seeds quality in decreasing DHL value for each variety. B5 -B6 is the best treatment for Detam 1 and B3-B6 treatment for Detam 4 Pridato improve seedselectrical conductivity. The effect of each variety on hydration level and physiological seeds quality was significantly different, Detam 4 Prida variety has the best result.
