- This thesis is describes a development program in Indrakila, Lerep Ungaran Barat, Semarang regency which have successfully reached it goals. The aims of the program is to research the rural development in inproving the economic welfare of the community, yet still maintain the sustainability of its natural resources. The results of the study shows that the development in the area of the research is focused on two types of the community activities, its plantation agriculture activities and livesfrock farming, where both have been succeded in improving the people’s economic welfare while still preserving it’s natural resources around the area. The key to the success of the program lies in the persistence of development in the society to up hold and implement local wisdom, thus making the whole society to participate actively in every process of development, which are supervised and in evaluated equally by the entire community itself.
